Ideas for engaging teachers:
  • After a year, send the survey to teachers again but shorten some of the questions
  • Ask for parts of faculty meetings and partner with teachers to showcase projects
  • Consider tech support as professional development - when possible
    • Have the teacher step through the solution and use the keyboard
    • Followup later to see how things went after a support call

Ideas for supporting the program
  • All ideas, comments and complaints have merit - what is underlying? How can it be addressed?
  • Consider availability of support for students
    • Schools often ensure that before school, recess, lunch and after school always have someone in a known location to help students
  • Consider your procedures and methods for the following
    • Loaning laptops - tracking and getting back
    • Loaning batteries, chargers - tracking/returning
    • Damage reporting and control
  • Will you have students help support the program?
    • Much success from other schools
      • View as a learning experience for students - not to solve tech support resource issues
        • Students are willing but not available
        • Students can never replace an employee
    • Check out especially Tech Sherpas http://www.techsherpas.org - I know the teacher who runs this and can put you in touch if this is of interest
